Ladies Day 2015

Building on the success of previous years, this year’s Ladies Day definitely lived up to all high expectations. One of the most popular days of the season was sponsored this year by Pipeline Technics – special thanks to Gay Collins and your generous support. The sun was shining and the day started extra early at 12.30pm with many of our ladies looking glamorous as usual, arriving in numbers to support our Colts who kicked off the proceedings on the field. Ladies were greeted with a choice of cocktails on arrival, the wine flowed freely and the plates of delicious food were in abundance. They were all treated to hand massages, a free consultation and spot prizes and raffles donated by the delightful ladies from Arbonne, who looked after everyone during the afternoon. This year was our biggest by far with over 150 Mums, Wives, Girlfriends, and Sisters from our U6’s right up to partners and family from our Ancients team. This is a huge testament to the family atmosphere we encourage at our club and very few clubs would have so many glamorous ladies cheering their teams on. Expectations were high as the undefeated Colts took to the field against UWA.in their custom designed pink kits. As usual, they didn’t disappoint with a fantastic performance. There was a mixed bag of results for our other teams, however, the atmosphere was truly amazing and the clubhouse was full to the brim with ladies, players, and families. It was even rumoured that certain players had come out of “retirement” just for the day and to wear the pink jerseys. As the afternoon progressed our fabulous band “No Direction” took to the stage and soon had the dance floor full with our ladies strutting their stuff late into the evening. After the success of the first “Miss Joondalup” last year, the “Girls!” were once again lined up to parade the catwalk and the Ladies were also entertained. Everyone agreed that this was by far the best Ladies Day by far and we are sure it will continue to grow. The success of the day was due in no small part to the efforts of our volunteers. Special thanks to John Allen, Chris Ainsworth, Kathy Park, Aidy Commins and John Hillen who worked tirelessly to ensure that the Ladies had fun. You guys were all amazing “Thank You” and we can’t wait until the next one.
