Youth & Colts Coach Announcements for 2016

Overview
It’s with great excitement that we announce our coaching set up for our Youth & Colts teams for 2016 and as we enter the 2nd year of our Future Prems Program pathway, the club’s vision is very clear in developing our juniors within the U15’s, U17’s and U20’s groups to provide a very clear pathway into our Premier Teams. This vision will enable the club to become self-sufficient, create a depth of playing talent and will alleviate the need to recruit externally moving forward. It is this very vision that will assist the club to retain its high level juniors along with attracting others and will also enable us to strategically implement an efficient succession plan based on player depth in positions. Our coaches will be focused on creating a positive, safe and fun environment, enabling the players to develop. Coaches will actively encourage and support the promotion of players into the higher age group when required. Remember, the players represent the club, and are not “the coaches players”. Players will need to be suitably dispensated prior to elevation.

U15’s
Tyran Murray has many years coaching at the club and the 2015 season was a real break out year for him as his side took out the GF beating Southern Lions in a very physical encounter. Tyron also embarked on his maiden representative coaching assignment with the North Regional U16’s side who took out the State Championships in 2015.
Aaron Touw returns to a coaching role at the club after a couple of years working up away. A handy prop in his playing days, Aaron returns to the club in a coaching capacity after coaching U16 to U18’s previously.
Our Colts & Youth coaching team will work closely under the guidance of Alan Pike who is appointed as the coordinator of all 3 groups. He will look to continue the development of both our players and coaches alike.

U17’s
Carlos Waretini after an impressive playing career at the Brothers, Carlos continues his coaching role in 2016 after taking the reins last season with the U17’s. A Long-time member and former captain, Lossy played an integral role in the clubs promotion into Premier Grade. His recent retirement has placed him well to embark on the next chapter in his rugby career in a coaching capacity.
Jade Ngatai has been a long time player at the club and after his recent retirement looks to re-establish himself in a coaching capacity.

Liam Smyth enters his 11th year of coaching at the club. As a level 1 accredited coach he is a true student of the game and is always looking to develop his coaching abilities.

U20’s Colts
Alan Pike will again be taking charge of our Colts after a very successful season in 2015 that saw his team claim the minor Premiership after an undefeated season. Unfortunately the team fell one game short of having a perfect year after going down to Nedies in the GF in a nail bitter. Alan’s recent experience & qualifications:
