Big Celebration for Ladies Day 2019
Once again Ladies Day proved to be an extremely well supported and successful event put on by the Ladies Day committee members for the Women, who not only volunteer their time for the Club but also work hard and support the men who work tirelessly throughout the year volunteering their time encouraging our youth to participate in the great sport of Rugby.
The celebration of the ladies of Joondalup Brothers is not just about us. This event is our opportunity to give back and raise funds for something that is close to our hearts and this year a unanimous decision was made to raise funds to help a fellow ‘Joondalup Brothers family member’, Andy Macdowel, who is currently having treatment for bowel cancer. Every year we adopt a colour, which reflects the topic of our fundraising and this year was Blue for bowel cancer, hence Blues and Bling!, You have to hand it the women of Joondalup Brothers, they never disappoint when given the chance to dress up and party!
We were honoured to have Judith Lane, Community Education & Engagement Manager from The Harry Perkins Research Institute, as our guest and speaker on the research work of the Institute. It is so reassuring to hear that money raised is making a difference in advancing the research into better treatment in many cancers and other life shortening illnesses.
Of course, no event would be successful without the support/entertainment from some of the teams players – thankyou – it was interesting! Congrats to 3rd Grade on winning the Miss Joondalup Quest.
The success of this event is down to you for purchasing your tickets and bringing along your girlfriends for a fantastic and entertaining afternoon and evening for which we sincerely thank you! We look forward to seeing all again you next year.
