The Future Prems Program or FPP is an annual academy program and an investment into the development of our talented players and coaches alike. Launched in 2012, the program is focused on the player experience with their development of rugby components such as core skill, position specifics, and game sense. The program content will also include player preparations, such as strength, conditioning, injury prevention & management.
The Future Prems Program took over our club academy in 2014 and with many of the players graduating into premier grade over the past few seasons the program is proving to be successful.

These players have all come through the FPP / Academy and are a testament to the club’s vision and commitment to developing our juniors into Premier Grade caliber players.
Higher honors have also been achieved by a few of our players. Clay Uyen secured a Western Force contract in 2019 after representing Australia U20s, Western Force 10’s, and Perth Spirit. Both Lorenzo and Isaac have gone on to play for the Fijian National 20s team. Victor Harris was rewarded with a Western Force contract in 2020 prior to that he gained selection in the Australian 20’s Squad. We have also had Sam Jones come through our program and graduate as a Premier Grade Referee.
The FPP is also a development pathway for our aspirational coaches and is overseen by our Director of Rugby. The infield sessions are delivered by our club-appointed academy coaches. Our recent programs have been delivered by Dave Wells, Denis Skillen, and Antonio Gerber. This program is also an important development pathway for our club coaches.
As the title suggests, the program is designed to develop the next generation of Premier Grade players for the “Brothers” and is a testament to the club’s commitment to developing those boys playing in U12 to U18 who have the potential to become our Premier players of the future, and as such will receive further skill and fitness enhancements during the closed season. Our age group coaches submit a list of suitable players for assessment. Those players who are selected are then invited to the 8 to 10-week program and subsequent induction evening.
Development opportunities are also provided for our young aspirational players from U18s to Colts and also those playing Premier Grade. Their program covers personal preparation along with position-specific & game sense components.
