A huge congratulations to Matt de Beer as he reaches an incredible milestone—his 250th senior grade game! On Saturday, when he takes the field against UWA, he will become only the second player in our club’s history to achieve this remarkable feat.

Matty officially debuted in senior grade back in 2017—though we suspect he may have made a few sneaky appearances before then! He has since cemented his place in club history as the first player to reach 100 Premier Grade games. His dedication, versatility, and club-first attitude make him an outstanding clubman—always ready to step up and play in any grade and any position.

Matty has also achieved the rare distinction of scoring a try in three different grades on the same day, a testament to his talent and determination. Known as “5-Meter Matty,” his uncanny ability to strike from short range is legendary. But of all his tries, one stands out—Round 10 of the 2023 season against Associates, when he took the ball from the 22-meter line, bulldozed through four defenders, and sprinted the final 10 meters to score the match-winning try!
