An Evening with Richard Hill

An Evening with Richard Hill The Brothers fantastic annual dinner tradition continued this year and given the visit of the British Lions to Australia for the first time in twelve years, we felt it appropriate to have a famous Lion as our guest. Consistent with our club ethos we went for the one of the best and were delighted when Richard Hill accepted our invitation. Richard was a three times Lion and also a RWC winner with England in 2003. He was the only player in Clive Woodward’s reign as England coach never to be dropped and in 2012 was named at openside flanker in the greatest Lions team of all time. We again chose the Premier Suite at the Arena which is a great venue despite the poor catering. Not letting that get in the way of a great night, we had another sold out event. Richard was fantastic and fielded questions on all manner of things which he delivered in a very humourist and genuine fashion. Described by many as our best event yet we were also able to raise significant funds for the Blue light charity which is a charity of the Commissioner of Police which raises funds for seriously and terminally ill children. This donation was also increased following a most generous donation by the City of Joondalup who contributed a significant amount of money to the fund in lieu of a presentation Richard gave to their staff earlier in the day. As always the event was orchestrated by Rob Green who again ensured the event passed off brilliantly and we were also very grateful for the generous patronage and sponsorship of our very own Garth Davis and the Investors Club. Roll on this year’s dinner, big boot to fill!
