Ladies Day 2013 was an absolute cracker. Each year this event gets bigger and better and Saturdays was easily the biggest in the clubs history with upwards of 100 ladies attending and enjoying their special day at the club. The ladies were pampered as they were treated to facials and cosmetic products by Maryanna from Arbonne Independent Consultants. Our ladies were dressed up and treated to a day out. The champagne was flowing and everyone had an enjoyable day which was capped off by an appearance of our live band “No Direction” who played well into the night. The day’s festivities included raffles and tee shirt sales for our ladies who were assisting in raising money. We also had Greg Murray fundraising for The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) with Greg shaving his head; he managed to raise over $5,000.00 which was an amazing effort for a brilliant cause. The crowd had the opportunity to bid for the right to cut his ponytail which in itself raised $500. Greg you are a legend! We also had Connor Caldwell raising money for our injured player’s fund. Connor got a taste of what ladies endure, getting his back waxed and gauging by his response (and girl like screams) it will be the last time he does! Great job big man in taking one for our injured players! Our day started off with the 18’s who along with 3rd grade and 2nd grade wore pink socks in support of NBCF and ladies day. Our 1st grade took this to the next level wearing pink jerseys, shorts and socks in a one off specially designed ladies day kit. The boys looked fantastic, and this was well received off the field by the large and vocal crowd. With the rugby now done for the day the festivities and celebrations continued well into the night. These events take a lot of hard work and special mention to Lucy Evans, Phil Bedworth, Babs Howard and Nicky Jones who worked tirelessly in preparing and organising an amazing event for us all to enjoy. We would also like to say a big thank you to our ladies day kit sponsors: Anton Visser at Drip Stopper, Matt Mackie at Mackie Commercial Painters, Michelle Du Plessis at Brighton Beach Physiotherapy Centre. Maryanna Lucror at Arbonne Independent Consultants, Rob Gourlie at Sandgroper Trailer & Caravan Hire. This was our final home game of the season and what a way to finish. As a club we would like to thank every one of our supporters, we are blessed to have such a committed and passionate support group that turn out every home game; it’s this spirit that ensures our continued growth and evolution as a club. We are a club we can certainly be proud of.
